I love graphic design and photography
As a designer, I enjoy the challenges brought to me every time I begin a new project be it a, logo, letter head, or full magazine design or redesign. I found my initial inspiration to become a designer back in high school and college, when viewing and enjoying concert posters created by the artists and promoters, and magazines I was drawn to read not only for the stories published in them but the advertisements and overall design and look of them. I have worked on varied projects from rock-n-roll to b2b industry informational magazines, both in an art and production roles. Two magazines that I believe had the greatest impact on me as an artist/designer would be Details of the 1980’s and Raygun of the 1990’s. I enjoyed Details for its wild and stylish appearance, and Raygun for totally embracing its utter disdain for conventional magazine design and readability. I continue to search for new and varied opportunities in the print publication sphere, while finishing the degree I started so many years ago.
I look forward to transitioning my publication design to web design, creating greater challenges for me moving forward as the world completes its transition to a more digital world. While in the end the transition to a digital medium is much more about learning to use the tools and form that is digital as opposed to print. Here’s to a new beginning.
